AudioCodes’ Mediant session border controllers (SBCs) deliver seamless connectivity, enhanced security and quality assurance for enterprise and service provider VoIP networks.

In the enterprise environment, SBCs form an effective demarcation point between the business’s VoIP network and the service provider’s SIP trunk, performing SIP protocol mediation and media handling (interoperability), and securing the enterprise VoIP network.

In the service provider core, AudioCodes SBCs can function as peering SBCs between operator networks or as access SBCs delivering security and protocol normalization.

The Mediant family of SBCs includes a range of platforms that offer cost-effective SBC and hybrid functionality (SIP to TDM, SIP to SIP).

Reasons to leverage VoIP.ms with Microsoft teams

One of the major reasons to use our service with your SBC would be by controlling your cost for outgoing and incoming calls with our pay-as-you-go service. This will further help you save on your cost while also having T1 quality for your calls. Overall, it will further enhance your experience while retaining all the functionalities that the SBC offers you.

Additionally, this will ensure a smooth migration from legacy telephony to SIP-based infrastructure, provide advanced security for protection against malicious attacks and fraud while running in a virtual environment or on a dedicated appliance.

Also, keep in mind our failover options that allow you to reroute calls externally in case your SBC would reply with a busy signal or simply be unreachable. This will avoid calls being lost in case of an electrical outage or congestion at your SBC level. You could have calls rerouted to a Digital Receptionist, a Calling Queue, forwarded to another number via our Call Forwarding feature or even a Call Hunting to multiple people in a cascade in order to avoid any calls of being lost.

Configure Microsoft Teams With AudioCodes SBC and VoIP.ms

Microsoft Teams is a unified communication and collaboration platform that combines persistent workplace chat, video meetings, voice over IP phone calls, file storage and application integration. The service integrates with the company's Office 365 subscription office productivity suite and features extensions that can integrate with non-Microsoft products.

The following guide has been created and tested by AudioCodes in their technical labs in conjunction with VoIP.ms. AudioCodes has been officially certified by Microsoft as a partner that can be fully integrated with its Microsoft Teams platform.

Due to the complex nature of this setup and its multiple environments, the user should get directly in contact with Amazon, AudioCodes or Microsoft for guidance and troubleshooting in case of any configuration issue or question with their respective platform. VoIP.ms will be able to provide only information about their respective network rules and settings.

It is recommended that the configuration of the system is performed by an IT network engineer, a System Administrator or a person otherwise familiar with Amazon Web Services, AudioCodes SBCs and/or Microsoft Teams.
