== Connecting the Mediatrix device to your network ==
+
The Mediatrix C7 and Mediatrix 4100 series have two Ethernet ports:
+
* ETH1 (or WAN in the 4102): connect the unit to your network through this port, it is set to get an IP address from a DHCP server.
+
* ETH2 (or LAN in the 4102): by default it has IP 192.168.0.10, this port can be used to directly manage the device.
+
+
If the Power LED is on, the device has an IP address, in such case:
+
* Connect a phone to one of the telephony ports and '''Dial: *#*0'''
+
* The system will playback the IP address the device has (Example: 192.168.1.2)
+
+
If the Power LED is blinking, the unit has not received an IP address.
+
* Check the network cable
+
* Check if the port in your network switch is active
+
* If the problem remains then use the second Ethernet port to directly connect your computer to the unit.
+
-
The first step is to find out what IP Address your adapter is currently using. By default, the Mediatrix 41xx (4102S, 4104, 4108, 4116 or 4124) running DGW 2.0 gets its IP address by DHCP. If the Power LED is solid on, this means the device has an IP address. You can then go to Step2. If the Ready LED is blinking, the Mediatrix unit is looking for a DHCP server, you can then connect the unit to a network with DHCP server or do a Partial Reset.

To discover your device’s IP address, pick a phone connected on Line 1 and do the following:
+
-
'''Dial: *#*0'''
+
Using your favorite web browser from a computer on the same network, open the IP address the device got from the DHCP server.Example: http://192.168.1.2
-

+
-
The system should now playback the IP address your device has been assigned.
+
* Default username: '''public'''
-
(Example: 192.168.1.2)
+
* Default passowrd: '''<Empty> (no password by default)'''

You should now see the web interface of your Mediatrix unit.
