Viking K-1900-8-IP Series VoIP Phone With Entry System

The K-1900-8-IP Series panel phone can either auto-dial a phone number each time the handset is lifted, be used as a multi-number auto-dialer, or be used as a standard manual dial phone. The K-1900-8-IP Series phones are designed to provide quick and reliable communication for SIP VoIP phone systems with PoE. The unit can be programmed from any PC on the same LAN or remotely using a Static IP Address. The K-1900-8-IP Series phone can dial up to 250 programmable numbers and another 250 rollover numbers.
When a call initiated by the K-1900-8-IP Series phone is answered by an apartment or business tenant, a built-in contact closure may be activated to control an electric gate or door strike. Up to 1,000 keyless entry codes may be programmed, providing tenants with keyless entry. A 26 Bit Wiegand input is provided for adding an optional proximity card reader with capacity to program up to 1,000 card numbers. Keyless entry codes and card numbers can be programmed to only allow access at specific times and/or day of the week. A request for exit (REX) input is included for easy exiting. The K-1900-8-IP Series phone also has automatic event logging allowing you to review the time and date of the call, which door was open/closed, what keyless entry code or proximity card was used, request for exit usage and whether it was an inbound or outbound call.
The K-1900-812L-IP and K-1900812LIPEWP have a 12” long armored cable with internal stainless steel lanyard for additional cable strength.
The K-1900-8-IP-EWP and K-1900812LIPEWP shares all of the features of the K-1900-8-IP and K-1900-812L-IP in addition to Enhanced Weather Protection (EWP) for outdoor installations where the unit is exposed to precipitation or condensation. EWP products are designed to meet IP66 standards and may feature foam rubber gaskets, sealed connections, gel-filled butt connectors, as well as potted circuit boards with internally sealed, field-adjustable trim pots and DIP switches for easy on-site programming. Pre-requisites
- Be connected on the same LAN as the device.
- The Viking IP Programming software to access the device. It can be downloaded directly through the Viking Product page. Here: https://vikingelectronics.com/products/K-1900-8-IP/.
- In your VoIP.ms Sub-Account configuration, you must select the codec G722 and G711u. G722 is used for internal calls to have an HD audio if you have this codec on your other devices that will reach internally this device. Example with an internal extension number. (You must have this codec selected on all your devices to make it work).
Programming
Download and install the programming software
- 1. Go to the Viking product page, and locate the "SOFTWARE & DOWNLOADS" section. Find and select the "IP Programming Software."
- 2. Download and install the programming software by either saving or opening the file. Then, run the setup by clicking on "setup Viking IP Programming.exe."
- 3. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation process.
- 4. Once installed, access the Viking IP Programming application by clicking on its icon on your desktop. This will open the main screen, allowing you to program any K-1900-8-IP device connected to the same LAN.
- Note: Ensure that your PC is connected to the same LAN as the K-1900-8-IP for proper functionality.
Connection / Deconnection
- 1. Open the "Viking IP Programming" software on your PC. The start screen will display a list of connected Viking IP devices on the network.
- 2. Select the desired K-1900-8-IP device from the list by clicking on it or double-clicking the device.
- 3. If no username and password have been programmed and the security code is still set to default (845464), no additional information is required to connect. Otherwise, a pop-up window will prompt for the username and password. If the security code has been changed from the default, it will also ask for the correct security code.
- 4. If multiple K-1900-8-IP devices share the default name "VIKING_MK64_Vik02", use MAC addresses to differentiate them.
- 5. To finish programming, click the "Disconnect" button at the bottom of the screen. Alternatively, closing the program will automatically disconnect the unit.
Configuring the K-1900-8-IP Network Settings
Accessing the device
- 1. Open the "Viking IP Programming" software on a windows PC that is connected to the same LAN as the K-1900-8-IP device to be
programmed.
- 2. The window in the upper left corner of the menu will show you each K-1900-8-IP device that is connected to that LAN. Select the unit with the same MAC address shown on the label located next to the Ethernet connector on the K-1900-8-IP device.
- 3. Click on the [connect] button. A default K-1900-8-IP device has no username or password programmed, the security code is set to "845464" and when configured this way, you are instantly connected to the K-1900-8-IP device. If the K-1900-8-IP device has been programmed with a username and password, a pop up window will ask for the username followed by the password. If the unit’s security code has been changed from
“845464”, it will then prompt for the correct security code, then click [retry].
- 4. The program will then read and display the K-1900-8-IP device’s IP and programming settings.
IP Settings
SIP Server / Peer to Peer Settings
- 1. Click on the "IP Settings" tab.
- 2. Where the SIP Server / Peer to Peer Settings section
- 2.1 Select Server on the dropdown menu.
- 2.2 In the field to the right of the drop-down menu.: Enter the VoIP.ms pop server in the field you have indicated. (Note in order to reach the device, it must be on the same pop as your other devices).
- 2.3 Outbnd Proxy: Re enter the VoIPms POP Server. If you want to use our alternative port you can enter it as "popserver:port"
- 2.4 Authentic. ID.: Enter your VoIP.ms sub-account SIP username.
- 2.5 Username: Enter your VoIP.ms sub-account SIP username.
- 2.5 Password: Enter your VoIP.ms sub-account SIP username.
- 2.6 Caller ID: This should be the outbound caller ID number. See the notification below.
⚠️ IMPORTANT - Caller ID
- Entering outbound Caller ID Name, it must be in CAPITAL LETTERS. This will appears more clearly/visible on some devices.
- You must NOT use any special characters. They will not be displayed and it prevents potential outbound call issues.
- Do NOT exceed 15 characters. Traditional canadian providers will not show more than 15 characters. We suggest shrinking or adapt the name.
- Spaces are allowed in a caller ID name but count as a caracters. (do not exceed 15 chars. in total).
- 2.7: Register Fails: Select Re-Resolve
- 2.8: Go to the next section Gateway Ping / Registration Time / Codecs to continu the configuration process.
Gateway Ping / Registration Time / Codecs
- 1. Where the section Gateway Ping / Registration Time / Codecs under the IP Settigs tab
- 1.1: Regist. Time (Min): Indicate 1.
- 1.2: SIP Codecs: Select G722, G711u. (You must ensure that the codec G722 is selected under your Sub-Account in order to have HD Calls for better audio clarity. And it must be choose on all your devices).
