In order to allow each member of your team to make outgoing calls and receive calls you need to create a sub account for each of them, then link each one to a specific member of your team.

When you complete your Bria Teams registration. You will have access to your Bria Teams's dashboard. You will be invited to create an access for each members of your team at the first part.

For this wiki, we skip this part, and we will not create any other team member, you will be able to create them later.

Configure your team

Set your codecs

The first of the configuration, we will need to specify the default codec, for all your devices. When you use the softphone on your Desktop, on your Mobile (by using your WiFi internet or mobile data) a specific codec may be use.

The allows codec needs to reflect your VoIP.ms sub-accounts parameters that you plan to use with your team. This settings can be found when you edit or create a sub account and expend the "Advanced Options" section. This will be "Allowed Codecs".

In your Bria Teams dashboard, click on "Settings and Preferences" where the upper navigation bar.

Edit the codec part by clicking on the BriaTeams SetGear.png "Gear" button. Then edit the AUDIO CODECS part.

We suggest using G.722 as the primary for HD calls and uncheck unwanted codecs. NOTE: You need to activate the codec G722 into each sub-accounts. Otherwise you can use the normal codec G.711u as the normal codec. (G.722 is mainly used for HD calls).

You can select multiple codec, simply drag each codec by priority. Since is done, apply the change for each type of use. (Upper right devices, Desktop, Mobile Cellular, Mobile Wifi or the button NEXT at the bottom.)

When is finish, press the button close BriaTeams closebtn.png.

IMPORTANT: This section is optional. It explains in detail how to use encrypted traffic in the device. If you are not certain on how encrypted traffic works, or the benefits of encrypting SIP traffic, please contact technical support for more information.

These devices are compatible with TLS, however, some settings need to be adjusted to have it working. This section will be assuming that your SIP account is already enabled to use TLS, if you have not enabled it yet, please follow these instructions before going further:

For more information on how to enable encrypted traffic for the main account, please click on Main account or more information on how to enable encrypted traffic for the sub-account sub account

In order to use the SIP TLS/SRTP call encryption, you need to activate this option into all sub-accounts of your team members, under advanced options: Encrypt sip traffic when you edit or create a sub-account.

If you have already configured your voice and wish to activate traffic encryption, activate the option into each sub-account the SIP Traffic encryption and only select TLS in transport and activate SRTP into the Bria portal.

  • Entering outbound Caller ID Name, it must be in CAPITAL LETTERS. This will ensure more clearly/visibility on most devices.
  • Do NOT exceed 15 characters. Traditional canadian providers will not show more than 15 characters. We suggest shrinking or adapt the name.
  • You must NOT use any special characters. They will not be displayed and it prevents potential outbound call issues.
  • Spaces are allowed in a caller ID name but count as a characters. (do not exceed 15 chars. in total).

Then click on BriaTeams SaveAndCloseebtn.png

Note: You need to have one sub account PER members/seats.

Install your softphone to your team member

When you create a new member with his email address, they will receive a link in order to download and install the softphone. Then they will need to follow the instructions. A new password will need to be created by them using the email address that you used to create the member.

News & Updates from Counterpath

License Server Migration

CounterPath will be migrating the license server and portal that supports your Bria Teams service as part of a staged rollout. As long as customers are using updated versions of our Bria apps and have not previously had to add our License Server IPs to pass traffic through their firewalls, this migration should be seamless.

Customers that have previously restricted their firewalls to specific CounterPath License Server IPs must update their allowlists to include the full table of current and new IPs. In addition, Customers should update to the latest versions of the Bria apps if they've not already done so. With these aforementioned steps in place, during the migration, Bria clients will continue to operate without disruption.

Timeline

Maintenance activity will be conducted in stages as follows:

Customer Migration Test #1 February 11, 2023 (Saturday 9pm to 10pm PST) 1 hour swap of URLs between our License Servers for Customers and CounterPath to identify any pending customer allowlists

Decommissioning of Legacy License Server May 9, 2023 (Tuesday 9pm to 10pm PST) Permanent swap of URLs for our backup License Server
