10DLC Business Text Messaging Regulations and Requirements
From VoIP.ms Wiki
As of early 2022, United Stated mobile carriers have been enforcing that any business who would like to send 10-digit long code (10DLC) messaging traffic for business purposes needs to subscribe to a database known as The Campaign Registry. In other words, business text messaging sent to “regular phone numbers” eg. +1 (431) 123-9999 need to preemptively register their messaging traffic. The purpose of this process is to reduce the quantity of SMShing (phishing by SMS) among many other types of fraud or undesired types of SMS/MMS. There are multiple upsides including better speed, better deliverability, and such.
VoIP.ms supports Application-to-Person (A2P) delivery for business text messaging and thus provides the possibility to register your messaging traffic with The Campaign Registry. The following article will provide all the information in relation to the process.
Please note that The Campaign Registry and mobile carriers both have pass-through fees to deliver your business text messaging. Note that VoIP.ms does not make any profit on top of those fees. As of the date of this article, Brand Registration and Campaign Registration with The Campaign Registry have a one-time fee of $4.00, and $15.00, respectively. Campaigns also have a monthly recurring fee anywhere from $2.00 to $30.00 per campaign. Mobile carriers have a per-message pass-through fees anywhere from $0.0020 to $0.0325. All the related fees can be found below and may be subject to change based on industry changes.
