Account Settings
The account settings Page is one of the most important pages on your customers portal, it will help you out as its name points out, to set all the proper ways to use your account, and that will affect the global settings on your account, from Device type, to routing and even security of your account. You will be able to access your account settings by unfolding the Main Menu.
On your Account settings page you will be able to set many important changes like
- Routing: Where you will be able to choose your route for outgoing calls(value or premium) along with the Carrier for your Toll free calls.
- Account Restrictions: This is one of the most important settings label. It will help you out setting how long you can stay on a local or international call, and also you will be able to select which countries are allowed for you, to call out, or if you do not want to make international calls, you can lock them too. As a personal recommendation, I strongly suggest you to check this label first, and make sure to make the proper changes, so in case that your account or sub account gets compromised, these options will limit the access of the account.
- General: Here you will set your dialing mode, your caller Id, your voice mail associated to your main account and also enable the music on hold.
- Security: This is where you will be able to change your Customers portal password, and your main SIP/IAX password, also you can enable the option of displaying the passwords on the customers portal, in case that you need it.
- Inbound settings: This is very important, here is where you will set your device and SIP or IAX protocols for inbound calls. If you have not set the proper device here, you wont be able to receive calls.
- Notifications: This is optional, you can set an amount here, and whenever you are below that amount, you will receive a notification from our system, to a specified email address. It is set by default to $10.
- Default DID routing: These settings define the Preconfigured Routing Options which are applied to new DIDs when they are ordered.
However, when you order new DIDs, you will also be able to change the settings for the DIDs in the order page.
- Newsletter: You can enable this option if you want to receive newsletters from VOIP.ms.
- Advanced: These are the advanced settings used by the systhem when you make or recive calls. You can select the Type of NAT, the DTMF Mode and the Codecs used by the main account.
Account Routing
These settings define the routes the system will use when you place calls to either USA48, Canada, Toll Free or International Numbers.
For Canada and USA there are two available options:
Value is the greatest price for Canada and USA. This permit us to offer Canada starting as low as 1/2 cent per minute, depending on location, and USA at a flat rate of 1.05 cent. Our value rate is of the best quality we could find and targeted at end users and resellers who are looking for the best wholesale prices without any volume commitment. CallerID pass-through is not always guaranteed to work on this route.
Premium has a flat rate of 1.25 cent for both USA48 and Canada and is routed through established and renowned tier-1 carriers always delivering the same level of quality, at a price that is a little higher than our value option. This price is intended to end-users with critical business calls or resellers who are willing to pay a little more for assured quality, but still less than other US48 tier-1 providers. CallerID pass-through is guaranteed for this route.
For International numbers (Outside of USA48 and Canada) there are also two available options:
Value is the greatest price we could find. Our value rate is of the best quality we could find and targeted at endusers and resellers who are looking for the best wholesale prices without any volume commitment.
Premium is routed through established and renowned tier-1 carriers that can deliver the same a higher level of quality to some destinations, at a price that is a little higher than our value option. This setting is intended to end-users with critical business calls or resellers who are willing to pay a little more for assured quality.
Toll Free Routing: This define the route the system will use when you place a Toll-Free call to Canada or USA.
For Toll free calls routing, the available options are:
Value is free to use. CallerID passthrough and quality is not always guaranteed and the route is offered.
Premium calls has a cost of 1.06 cent per minute. It offers a better CallerID passthrough and overall quality.
The final setting on the Account routing label is the Toll Free Carrier, which defines the type of carrier that will be used when you dial a toll-free number.
For example: this feature can be useful for west based Canadian customers who wish to use the Seattle server but have their toll-free termination calls go through a Canadian carrier.
These are the available options:
Server Default: The Carrier for the termination of your toll-free call will be chosen depending on the geographical location of the server. American Servers will dial through an American Carrier and Canadian servers will use a Canadian Toll-Free carrier.
American Carrier: Your Toll-Free calls will always go through an American Carrier, even if you use a Canadian server.
Canadian Carrier: Your Toll-Free calls will always go through a Canadian Carrier, even if you use an American server.
