I'm a little unsure about [http://wiki.voip.ms/w/index.php?title=Dial_Plan_for_Linksys_ATAs&action=historysubmit&diff=4304&oldid=4251 this rule] (by which |310xxxx| is passed through to an upstream provider without adding an area code). I'd normally prefer to add my own local area code (for instance, |<:1613>[2-9]xxxxxx| in east Ontario) to any seven-digit call before a call goes out as the gateway could be located anywhere... and 310-xxxx may be just another number from the point of view of any telco outside Bell Canada territory. --[[User:Carlb|Carlb]] 22:35, 20 January 2012 (EST) | I'm a little unsure about [http://wiki.voip.ms/w/index.php?title=Dial_Plan_for_Linksys_ATAs&action=historysubmit&diff=4304&oldid=4251 this rule] (by which |310xxxx| is passed through to an upstream provider without adding an area code). | + | Hi Carl, | ||

| + | That part of the dial plan was intended to handle the outgoing calls to the 310 numbers. As you might be aware with the system of VoIP.ms you should only dial 7 digits to reach those numbers. Leaving the part |<:1613>[2-9]xxxxxx| will add your area code to every outgoing call, making impossible for you to reach a 310 number. [[User:Albert|Albert. 310xxxx
I'm a little unsure about this rule (by which |310xxxx| is passed through to an upstream provider without adding an area code). --Carlb 22:35, 20 January 2012 (EST)
