Fortinet FortiFone FON-570

FortiFone is equipped with high-definition audio and reliable performance, enabling efficient and clear conversations. It offers a range of selection from entry-level phones to executive-level phones that offer a variety of features, with programmable line and extension appearances.

Configuration Details

Getting the IP address number

To find the IP Address of your Fortinet FortiFone FON-570, press the button "OK" in the middle of the arrows on the phone and this will take you directly to the status page.

Otherwise, if it is not the case, press the button "Menu" directly on the screen, then press on "Status".

You will see your IPv4 address at the "General" Tab.

Login into your device via Web Interface

Open your preferred web browser, Google Chrome for example, and type in the url bar http://ThePhoneIPAddress

The default username is: admin and the default password is: 23646 (admin)

Setting up your device with your SIP credentials

To register your VoIP.ms Main Account or Sub account, you will need to go on the upper navigation bar and click on the tab "Account".

This phone allows you to have up to 16 SIP accounts. You must register 1 SIP main or sub-account per account. For example, you can define 2 accounts separately and they will use different credentials and may display different caller IDs depending on your needs.

Line Active: Needs to be enabled if you want to use this line.
Display Name: This is your Outbound caller ID Name. We suggest entering it in CAPITAL LETTER
Note: Most of landline providers wont displaying more than 15 characters.
Register Name: This is your SIP main account or sub account username.
User Name: This is your SIP main account or sub account username.
Password: This is your SIP main account or sub account password.
Server Host: Your preferred VoIP.ms Servers and indicating the port 5060 or the alternative port 5080 or 42872.
Note: To received incoming calls, your phone must be registered on the same PoP server as your DID.
Transport: UDP
Server Expires: 300

Enabling the SIP-TLS Call Encryption

To activate the call encryption on your account, first, you need to activate the option in your main account or sub account. See the wiki Call encryption

Once your Main Account or Sub account is configured to use the SIP traffic Encryption you will need to change two settings.

Go into the phone admin web portal, click on the upper navigation button "Account".

In your SIP account, you need to change two settings:

Server Host: You need to specify the port 5061 or the alternative port 5081 or 42873.
Transport: Choose the transportation protocol TLS.

Once the previous step is done, go to the "Advanced" button on the left navigation bar and find,

RTP Encryption(SRTP): Compulsory

How to change the time setting

Go on the upper navigation bar and click on "Settings". Then, on the left navigation bar "Time & Date".

Time Synchronized via DHCP: Yes
Time zone: Select your time zone by using the drop-down.
Location: Select location you are in for daylight saving.
Primary Server: pool.ntp.org (optional)
Time Format: Hour 24 (optional)
Date Format: YYYY-MM-DD (optional)

Click on [Confirm] button.
