Grandstream DP750 Configuration Detail (Applies to model DP752 too)

1. Verify that the handset is paired to the base. If the system has not been configured, the handset will display a menu prompt asking to "Subscribe". Press and hold the pairing button on the base (indicated by a radiowave icon) for five seconds; select Subscribe → Base 1 → Subscribe from the handset menu. The handset will respond with "Subscribed". Up to five DP720 handsets may be subscribed to a single DP750 base; it's also possible to subscribe one handset to up to four different base units.

2.The IP address of the DP750 base may be obtained from any paired handset under Menu → Status → Base Status. The main menu is accessed using the centre button, then select the 'i' icon from the middle of the bottom row to reach the status page.

3. Type this DP750 base station IP address in your PC browser e.g. http://192.168.2.1

4. Log in using username and password of "admin" to configure the DP750 Base Station. (HW version 1.7A and later use a random ‘admin’ password which is marked on a sticker at the back of the unit.)

5. Navigate to the Profiles > Profiles 1, and select ' General Settings '.

  • Select a name. This is only for your own use.
  • One of VoIP.ms multiple servers, you can choose the one closest to your location. Please note that in order for inbound calls to work the server chosen must match the one used by your DID Number.
  • Click on the Save and Apply button.

6. Navigate to the SIP Settings > Basic Settings menu on the left.

  • Select either UDP, or if your account is configured to use SRTP encryption, select TLS/TCP.
  • Set the Local SIP Port to 5060 for UDP, if your account is configured to use SRTP encryption, use the port 5061.
  • Click on the Save and Apply button.

7. Navigate to the Profiles > Profile 1 > Audio Settings.

  • Select both In-Audio and via RTP for the send DTMF option.

  • If you are using SRTP / TLS/TCP, ensure the SRTP Mode option is set to Enabled and Forced.
  • Click on the Save and Apply button.

8. Navigate to DECT > Sip Account Settings.

  • In the Account 1 line, enter your SIP User ID into both the SIP User ID and Authenticate ID fields.
  • Enter the password for the SIP account in the password field. Note that the phone has issues with special characters for the password and it is better you set a new password without any special characters.
  • For the Name field. See the requirements below. This your Outbound Caller ID Name when you call a Canadian number which will be displayed on the Display screen.
IMPORTANT INFO FOR CALLER ID NAME: 
  - We suggest entering your outbound Caller ID Name must be in capital letters. This will appears more clearly/visible on some devices.
  - You must NOT use any special characters, they will not be displayed. 
  - Some of regular Canadian providers will not show more than 15 characters. We suggest shrinking or adapt your caller ID. 
  - Spaces are allowed in a caller id name.
  • Click on the Save and Apply button.

9. Navigate to DECT > Handset Line Settings.

  • Ensure the SIP account that you created in step 6 is select in the Line 1 column for each handset.
  • Click on the Save and Apply button.
