Managing Poly Devices with VoIP.ms via Poly Lens
This document explains how to register, configure, and centrally manage Poly IP phones (VVX, CCX, Edge series, etc.) with the VoIP.ms SIP service using lens.poly.com, Poly’s cloud management platform.
Please remember for your VoIP.ms Integration
- Match SIP transport and port settings between Poly Lens and VoIP.ms Sub-account.
- * Use unique SIP sub-accounts per device.
- * Always test a template with one device before deploying fleet-wide.
2. Requirements
a. VoIP.ms Side
- Active VoIP.ms account.
- SIP sub-account created and enabled.
- Allowed IP list configured if needed.
- SIP credentials and server (e.g., toronto.voip.ms, 123456_sub, password).
b. Poly Side
- Compatible device: Poly VVX, CCX, Edge B/E, Trio, etc.
- * To see the minimum software levels see Supported Devices.
- Poly Lens account (lens.poly.com).
- Devices with updated firmware that support Poly Lens.
- Internet access with appropriate firewall rules (see “Ports and Protocols” section).
To Create a Poly Lens Account
1. Open Poly Lens, on the Poly Lens Log In page, (lens.poly.com). use one of the following options to create your Single Sign On login and create an Account:
- * Sign in with Microsoft - Use your existing Microsoft account or create a new one. See Permissions for more information.
- * Sign in with Google - Use your existing Google account.
- * Sign in with Apple - Use your existing Apple account.
- * Sign in with HP - Use your existing HP account.
- * Email/Password - Create a local Account using your email address.
- ** Note: Currently you can no longer create a local account. However, if you previously created a Local account you can continue to use this account to log in.
- ** Note: By signing up for Poly Lens, you agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- 2. Poly Lens sends a welcome email with information on how to get started. Select Get Started.
- 3. On the Poly Lens Profile page enter an Account Name.
- 4. Select Continue.
- 5. Poly Lens creates your account with this Account Name to this default Account.
** Note: When you onboard a device, Poly Lens will associate the device to this Account by default.
Sign up with HP
- HP ID is a centralized identity solution from HP that lets you use one set of credentials for various HP services. Key benefits include:
- * Simplified Access: Use a single sign-in flow to access supported HP solutions and the Poly Lens ecosystem of cloud portals and apps.
- * Enhanced Security: Industry-standard authentication safeguards your account.
- * Seamless Ecosystem: Switch effortlessly between HP solutions without managing multiple credentials.
To Create a New Account
- 1. Go to the ACCOUNT menu > Manage All Accounts.
- 2. Select Add New.
- 3. Enter an Account Name.
- 4. Select Confirm.
- 5. The new Account name is added to the list of Accounts.
3. Device Registration in Poly Lens
Option 1: Web UI Registration (e.g., VVX)
- Access the device’s IP address in a browser.
- Go to Settings > Provisioning Server.
- Input provisioning server URL: ***Organization Prov. URL*** https://zplogin.poly.com
- Save and reboot the device.
Option 2: Poly Lens QR Code
- Power up the device with internet access.
- On the phone’s screen, choose Activate via Poly Lens.
- Scan the QR code shown in the Poly Lens web portal under Devices > Add Device.
4. SIP Configuration for VoIP.ms
- Navigate to Devices > [Your Device] > Settings > SIP in Poly Lens:
- * SIP Address: [email protected]
- * Auth User ID: 123456_sub
- * Password: (SIP password)
- * Server Address: toronto.voip.ms
- * Port: 5060
- * Transport: UDP
Recommended Codecs:
- * G.711u
- * G.729 (if enabled on the VoIP.ms account)
- * G722 HD (16 Kbps)
Call Encryption
- Make sure in your sub-account you have selected: Call Encryption set to YES
- * Port: 5081
- * Transport: TLS
5. Device Grouping and Templates
- Create Groups in Poly Lens for departments, locations, or device types.
- Define Templates/Policies to push settings like:
- * SIP config
- * Codec preferences
- * Time zone, display language
- Assign devices to groups to apply configuration in bulk.
