SFLphone is an open-source SIP/IAX2 compatible softphone for Linux. SFLphone is free software released under the GNU General Public License. Packages are available for all major distributions including Debian, openSUSE, Fedora, Mandriva and the latest Ubuntu releases.
Register the SFLphone Softphone with VoIP.ms
Open the SFLphone Softphone and under the Edit menu select the Accounts option. Then on the Accounts window click on the Add button.
This option will lead you to the Account Settings window, once you're there under the Basic tab complete the following fields:
- Alias: Enter a name of your choice (it can be your name or your company name)
- Protocol: Choose the protocol you will use SIP or IAX2
- Host Name: servername.voip.ms (Pick one of VoIP.ms multiple Servers)
- User Name: (Replace with your Main SIP account or Subaccount UserID, e.g. 100000 or 100000_sub)
- Password: ********* (Use the SIP account password-By default the same as the Customer portal)
- Proxy: servername.voip.ms (Pick the same server as chosen before, VoIP.ms multiple Servers)
- User-Agent: (Replace with your Main SIP account or Subaccount UserID, e.g. 100000 or 100000_sub)
- If you want to register your Main account, you can find the Username and Password information by logging into your Customer Portal.
- If you want to register a sub-account you will have to use the credentials that you set when you created the sub-account.
After you have entered the information in the Basic tab, click on the Apply button at the bottom and then click on the Audio tab, and make sure the only codecs enabled are the PCMU(G.711U), G.729a and GSM. Please also set the DTMF to RTP
After this, click on the Apply button at the bottom and go to the Advanced tab, once you're there set the Registration expires option to 300 seconds (5 minutes) and click on the Apply button at the bottom.
As a last step go to the Security tab and click on the Add button, this will lead you to the Credential settings window, once you're there complete the following fields with the information that you set on the Basic tab and Apply your changes.
- Authentication name: (Replace with your Main SIP account or Subaccount UserID, e.g. 100000 or 100000_sub)
- Password: ********* (Use the SIP account password-By default the same as the Customer portal)
Your SFLphone should be ready to make calls, as a test you can place a call to our Echo test (Just dial 4443).
