The Port Out PIN is a 4 digits number that protects your DIDs against unauthorized port out requests. By adding a PIN to your account, the port out requests need to pass and match this number for them to be authorized. You can set a port out PIN that affects all of your DID numbers or setting a specific port out PIN per DID.

Please note that the Port Out PIN option will only apply for selected US numbers containing the lock icon.

In this article, we will show you how set each a PIN to secure your numbers from porting out unintentionally on your DID and for your whole account.

Port out PIN per DID Number

To set a PIN for a specific DID number, head to DID Numbers, Manage DIDs and edit your DID. Look for the option Port Out PIN protection, set your four digit PIN and save at the bottom of the page.

General port out PIN for your whole account

The port out PIN option can be found in the customer portal by going to Main Menu > Account settings > Security Tab.

To enable the PIN protection, simply enter the 4 digits of your choice and click apply.
To disable the PIN protection, leave the field empty and click apply.

The Port Out PIN option is available and will only apply for selected US numbers containing the orange lock icon.

Notes

= If you have a port out PIN set on your DID number and one set for your whole account, the correct port out PIN will be the one set on your DID number. In other words, DID port out PIN > Account port out PIN.
