“Updated October 2021: Recent changes to VoIP.ms infrastructure now require a 20ms ptime setting on some POPs. If you encounter no audio problems, refer to section Configuring ptime 20ms for G.711 u-law codec

Contents

Connecting the Mediatrix device to your network

The Mediatrix C7 and Mediatrix 4100 series have two Ethernet ports:

  • ETH1 (or WAN in the 4102): connect the unit to your network through this port, it is set to get an IP address from a DHCP server.
  • ETH2 (or LAN in the 4102): by default it has IP 192.168.0.10, this port can be used to directly manage the device.

If the Power LED is on, the device has an IP address, in such case:

  • Connect a phone to one of the telephony ports and Dial: *#*0
  • The system will playback the IP address the device has (Example: 192.168.1.2)

If the Power LED is blinking, the unit has not received an IP address.

  • Check the network cable
  • Check if the port in your network switch is active
  • If the problem remains then use the second Ethernet port to directly connect your computer to the unit.

Connecting to the Mediatrix GUI for the first time

Using your favorite web browser from a computer on the same network, open the IP address the device got from the DHCP server.Example: http://192.168.1.2

  • Default username: public
  • Default passowrd: <Empty> (no password by default)
